[WT-support] FT1000MP and DVK using PC audio

Hi all

During the IARU contest weekend using an HQ version of WT,L and an
FT1000MP, I was trying to find a way to get an audio WAV file (for CQ) to
be output when I hit F1 and was in SSB mode.

I didn’t find a way to get it to play successfully over the air.

I tried editing the LUA scripts to run the following sequence:
Key the PTT
Play the audio
Unkey the PTT

I found some online HEX commands to key the PTT and unkey it.
I found online help to play an audio file.
I could not get it to play nicely together, and it would just click on and
off again immediately, without playing the audio while PTT was enabled.

The PC audio was patched into the PATCH port in the back of the rig, and
the PTT was controlled over a serial port from the PC.

In theory it was doable. In practice in the heat of battle I could not get
it to work.

How do i do this, if I were to try again, without using a MicroHam
interface? (I have one at home for just such a job from back when I had a
1000MP, I didn’t think to bring it the 100 miles with me to set it up).

Thanks in advance
Mike
