[WT-support] FT1000MP and DVK using PC audio

Did you use Shift+F1 to record the MSG1.WAV files (it generates multiple
ones at different speeds), or were you trying to play pre-recorded .wav
files using your own software? Win-Test message files must be recorded by
Win-Test in a specific format and be stored in a specific location based on
contest ID and current op. Note that Win-Test only records message audio
using the Windows Default sound card, not the one specified in Interface
Configuration.
The easiest way is to use hardware keying circuits to generate PTT, same as
you would for CW, using NPN keying circuits. The Serial Box (
https://bit.ly/S-BOX) provides four of these NPN keying circuits (the
second pair can be used with MMTTY for FSK RTTY). It also includes one or
two internal FTDI USB-to-Serial adapters if needed.
Did you try the Win-Test scripts I published for the FT1000MP? See
https://bit.ly/wtscripts (download FT1000scripts.zip). The *TX.wts* and
*RX.wts* scripts may be used in advanced SO2R scenarios to generate PTT by
software command instead of keying circuits, so to play Win-Test voice
messages, you have to do this:
#TX $F1 #RX #CLEARRIT
You have to enable *Operating | Technique | Advanced SO2R* or else these
commands and the scenario is ignored.
First thing to try is to attempt to play the messages out of the speakers
jack to real PC speakers, then connect that jack to the PATCH jack. You
should observe the radio being keyed OK.
FYI, the PATCH jack may not work very well -- it really needs "line level"
audio input, not speaker output. You will probably need an audio isolation
transformer between the PC and the PATCH jack to keep hum and noise and RF
from getting into the audio.
