[WT-support] XP + MicroHAM problem

There is no protocol involved with sound card switching.  The mic is
always connected to the sound card microphone input and the Line is
always connected to the sound card Line Input.  The two inputs are
physically separate.

The *application* is responsible for opening the appropriate source
for input.  In Windows XP, the application also needs to manipulate
the controls of the sound card multiplexer (select/mute).  In Vista
and Windows 7, the operating system handles the mute/select controls
in the hardware abstraction layer and the application sees each
input (or output) as a separate device.
