I'm surprised that one COM port only could drive two different rotators.

Assuming the ERC-M uses the GS232B protocol (I assume it does), I wonder 
how this is possible. UNLESS the second rotator is considered an 
"elevation rotator" and bypasses the limitation that way ?

Before replying on wtRotators, I need more details on this subject.
