Bob,
I see. I was under the impression that I would be able to use the Winkey messages in addition to the WT F key messages but I see that that was incorrect. And R on the speaker. I guess that makes sense.
So I'm ready to go on to the next step. Again, thanks very much for your help.

Hal

I followed your instructions and now I am able to key the rig with WT through Winkey.
  Very good.
Much progress! However, the PC speaker has stopped working (not a major problem) and the messages programmed into Winkey no longer work when I press the buttons (however the paddle plugged into Winkey is now working).
Win-Test does not use the "WinKey messages" at all. It uses its own CW messages, which you program by typing MSGS [Enter] in the logging window (this is shortcut for clicking Options | CW | Modify standard messages)
Any idea what happened to the sound and why the Winkey messages no longer work?
When you use an external WinKey rather than the Win-Test internal CW keyer, all CW timing is handled by the external hardware, so the "beeps" go away. You can enable the WinKey's own "monitor" speaker using the WinKey software if you want to hear beeps every time you or the computer sends any CW.
