I also agree that HW control is (mostly) better.

Bob, you got me re-think about my current solution. I am using a microHam
u2R and have set the SO2R control to classic.

Is it still possible to use the microHam protocol for ACC etc.and Classic
SO2R control at the same time?

I can't test this fully right now since the u2R is 100 km away on my
remote-QTH. But when using the microHam Control Protocol Monitor,
it looks like the commands are sent to the u2R, but never acknowledged when
SO2R Classic is selected.

(The reason for using 'classic SO2R is that I never got the SO2R switching
working fully with WT and microHam protocol)
