STORING, FINDING WINTEST LOGS:
1-For Win-Test 4, the binary log is kept in a .wt4 file (Win-Test 3 used .wtb).  .mtb is not used by Win-Test.
Open Win-Test and do File | Explore | /log directory and you should see the binary log.  This directory is hidden by default.  If you try to use Windows Explorer rather than Win-Test to find it, you won't see it.  The method for un-hiding these deafult Windows hidden folders  is explained in the Win-Test PDF file.  Just search for the string "hidden files".
2-To change the default directory for news logs, Select Options | Log | New Contest File Properties.
3-The easiest way to find the true location of such missing logs is to open a command prompt and do:
cd \
dir *.wt4 /b /a /s

that wud be a nice way to make things easy.   alex

  Another problem you may have is that Windows 7 stores logs in a strange place if you are not logged on as administrator and do not use the default directory.

    As a novice wintest user I am having a difficult time in understandeing how wintest handles logs.   I just finished a naqp contest with 600 qs and tr4ied to save the log--no luck  "path not recognized ......"
    tried using the CREATE LOG FILES  and got the same message...  I shut down wintest and found the adif and cabillo files  but cannot find the originaql log file *.mtb.   Where the heck does the mtb file wind up?   I cannot open the naqp ssb contest log???


    i must be missing something here----can anyone explain in swimple engliswh what is going on?   The help file is no help.
