  IMHO just work the Dupe, and forget this QSOB4 stuff.
  Remove the $QSOB4 variable.
  (1) it's faster. Stations get back to you saying "I'm not a dupe"
  (2) you don't get out of rhythm of the QSO exchange
  (2) you don' risk loosing a QSO and facing a NIL if the station did not log you  in the first place
