Hello Björn,

both WinKey that I testet are older WK1 type in 8 pin PDIP.
The very old stand alone is V9 an the second one in MKII is V10.

The COM port PTT ist a good idea.

To remind of my first post, the test with UCX-Log shows,
he fills the pauses with 7Ch characters and then there are none PTT
gaps.

From the WinKey V10 Datasheet:
Gap Insertion:
Winkey version 9 interprets the | character (hex 0x7C) a ½ dit delay
time. The | character can be included in
a text string to add extra emphasis to similar sounding sequences.
An example is W1OMO, sending it as
W1|O|M|O makes it easier to copy.

@Larry:
That would be a solution.
But when I fill in the | char in text, CW Keying stops sending at
this position.
E.g.: CQ CQ | DL8NAS, the it breaks after CQ before my call is
sending.
If I delete the spaces or swap space characters in the text to
ALT+255,
then there are no more PTT gabs.
However, the small pauses between the characters are missing.
This is not a solution either.
