F5VHJ (ex. WR6R) got his FTDX5000 to work once he threw away his Prolific USB-to-Serial converter and replaced it with one based on the FTDI chipset.<br><br>Select radio type FTDX-9000.<br><br>Also check the FT-5000 menu settings:<br>
<br>032 CAT RATE: 4800<br>033 CAT TIME OUT TIMER: 1000 ms? Not sure what would be best choice here<br>
034 CAT RTS: Disable <<<< Very important, especially when using USB-to-Serial adapter<br>035 CAT DATA IND: Enable<br><br>In particular you may need to set CAT RTS to DISABLE if you want to use the Win-Test default settings for an FTDX-9000 (4800, N, 8, 2, Always OFF, Always OFF).<br>
