Clive,

First, please have a little patience. Sometimes folks who attempt to answer all of the questions you have been posting do participate in radio contests during weekends (in this case the still-unsupported California QSO Party), so you may have to wait more than a day or two to get a reply, especially when the questions lack detail or contain errors.

Since you mention Caps Lock, I assume you intended to write "Since my MK2R+ automatically switches the headphones to radio 2 when radio 1 is transmitting (and vice versa), it would be nice to have WT automatically shift the DATA ENTRY FOCUS to radio 2 at the same time," instead of writing "shift the RX FOCUS". Caps Lock never affects Rx Focus.

As you may know, automatic Rx focus switching is handled by the Advanced SO2R scenarios and the SO2R message variables, such as $R2R2 and $LATCH, or manually via Ctrl-Alt-S, Ctrl-Alt-T, and Ctrl-Alt-A.

There is no built-in $CAPSLOCK macro (yet), or $CLEARRIT, which I think is higher on the wish list of most users. More about that in a separate post.

The complete list of message variables (or "macros") that do "Actions" is listed here. That list includes $TAB, $SPACEBAR, and $CR, but no $CAPSLOCK.

I suppose [Caps Lock] could be simulated in a LUA Script. But be careful what you wish for. If you want the data entry focus to switch to the secondary radio window whenever you press F1 on the primary radio, do you want it to immediately go back to the primary radio window when the message ends? If you are typing at the time, the typed text could be split between two windows.

$CAPSLOCK is a toggle. What if you press F1 while the SECONDARY radio has the focus? What if you interrupt a message by pressing [Escape] after the focus switches? Then what is supposed to happen? And how can this work on phone, with external DVKs, when there is no way for Win-Test to know that a DVK message has ended?

FYI, there are already open bugs in the area of Rx focus switching and CapsLock (see task #187, task #205, and task #220) that should be addressed first, IMHO.

In sum, though it would be nice to have a way to have Win-Test move the focus to the opposite data entry window whenever you start transmitting (like Ctrl-F1 in N1MM), a $CAPSLOCK macro or LUA Script may not be the ideal solution.
I still would like a reply to this.

Surely it is possible to send the key code of Caps Lock in an F key
message somehow? Sort of like $CR really.
